For our first photo assignment, the subject I chose was nature. Originally, I was going to shoot the subject macro, but then I saw that we would had to take pictures using the macro setting, which I didn't know anything about. So then I just went outside in my backyard, and took some pictures of stuff. There were some small, puddle-sized ice patches in the yard so I decided to focus on it and take some pictures of the ice itself, and of objects on the ice. My best picture is of a small, bright-reddish/orange leaf that was partially stuck in the ice. For that picture, I shot is with a high aperture to take some of the leaf's surroundings into focus. From this shoot, I learned about photoshop, how to really enhance photos you've taken, and how to make pictures look a lot better. I also learned that there are so many interesting things to take pictures of; you just have to look. Finally, I learned about vignetting and how to use it. For this photograph I decreased temperature, and increased exposure, contrast, and vibrance. I also used vignetting, and decreased amount, midpoint, and highlights, and I also increased roundness and feather. And lastly, I cropped the picture to eliminate a portion at the top I didn't like.
